Must-See TV Is Finally Back!

Monday, April 21st, 2008

I’ll tell you what…It’s been year’s since one night of television has been must-see.  Not Since Seinfeld went off the air in the 90’s has one night of the week been able to fill my time with TV watching.  But finally, in what can only be described as the perfect storm, Thursday nights are completely worth watching again.  Mind you, It’s taking a few networks to pull it off, but I can once again call Thursday night TV must-see!

If you are not watching 30 Rock, you are completely missing out.  It can get a little out there, but the writing is brilliant and definetely worthy of the Emmy’s it has received.  The show is funny.  Period.  Alec Baldwin in genius!  I love it long time.

What can I say about The Office that hasn’t already been said.  Awkward AND hilarious.  It’s one of my all-time favorite shows.  I usually end up watching it more than once during the week to fully grasp the awesomness of it!

And now, the show making thursday completely watchable again, LOST.  Sure, it has its slow eps, but the plot twists are sooooo good and sometimes enough to keep me up at night (or atleast keep me on a few blogs discussing LOST theories).  This season has been one of its best, for sure.  The producers are giving us answers on a regular basis and popping up new questions as we inch closer and closer to the series finally.

Now, if you ask my fiancee, she’ll say the best part of Thursday night TV is CSI.  I don’t like the show…never have.  The acting is horrible, and the writing is even worse.  But, because I love her, I hate-watch it and try to keep the rude comments to myself.  It’s a sacrifice, but one that is necessary if I hope to make it to my wedding day.

So, get ready TIVO…I have a feeling you’re going to be smokin’ come 10p on Thursday nights.   My cell phone thanks you for the rest.

Even Coughing As I Write This…

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…I can’t get rid of this stinkin’ cough.  I’ve been hacking up my lungs for over two weeks now.  I thought it was gone a few days ago when the cold moved into my head.  Nope.  It has migrated back into my lungs.  I take the usual medicines; Dayquil, Nyquil, Tylenol Cold and Cough, Emergen-C by the glass fulls.  It all gets me thru the day, but I NEED this cold to be gone.   Now, I’m not one to go to the doctor for every little cold, but it has now crossed my mind a few times considering how long I’ve been sick.

Help!  What is your best home remedy for getting rid of a cough/cold?  I really (cough, cough) need your help!

…And Now We Know!

Monday, April 7th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…the mystery has been keeping me awake at night.  Ok, that’s a lie.  I have been curios though what happened to the love birds.  Here’s the story:

When Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford split up, the couple called it quits digital style, says the country star. “It was completely mutual,” Underwood told Extra at the taping of Idol Gives Back. “We broke up over text so … it’s like ‘peace out.’ ” According to Underwood, the breakup wasn’t a tearful confrontation, but a realization that the romance just wasn’t meant to be between her and the Gossip Girl hunk. “It just didn’t work,” she said. “We both knew it didn’t work and [had] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.” Although the couple hasn’t spoken recently, Underwood has nothing negative to say about her ex. “I don’t dislike him, so it’s no big deal.” The split was a bit harder on Crawford, however. “He was upset about the breakup,” his sister, Candice, told PEOPLE last week. “It’s always hard when you lose a relationship.” Underwood reveals that her high profile relationship was made harder by fame. “It’s difficult while you’re dating because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are,” she tells Extra. “Then when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out and it’s like you’re rehashing old stuff. I don’t know what that’s all out now.”

HMMM … I still have to wonder why it didn’t work. Could it be that Chace was just spending too much time with his bro JC Chasez to show Miss Underwood enough attention? I mean, it’s possible that altho no hanky-panky was going on between JC and Chace they still spent too much time hanging around with one another for Carrie to feel like she was part of the relationship. I guess we may never know the truth … which remains between Carrie, Chace, probably Chace’s BFF JC and who ever their mobile carrier is.

Seriously…
