I’ll tell you what…I ran across this headline and kinda freaked out a little.  No one like to see one of their favorite bands get old.  But hip replacement surgery?  Depressing, to say the least.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD keyboardist BILLY POWELL, underwent emergency partial revision hip replacement surgery in JACKSONVILLE, FL last WEDNESDAY (5/21).

POWELL will be recovering over the next three to six weeks and will have to wear a hip brace for the next three months. An interim keyboardist will fill in for him while LYNYRD SKYNYRD tours this summer. 

POWELL is expected back sometime in JULY.
