No Turning Back Now!

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…time sure is flying by.  My wedding is in less than 3 months.  3 months.  One more time…3 MONTHS!  I guess some invitations went out yesterday.  I’m not freaking out about it.  Okay, maybe a little.  I can’t wait to be married.  It’s getting married that has me nervous.  Gonna be a BIG day!  I know it won’t be perfect, but obviously I want it to go as smooth as possible.  Honestly, I’m just hoping for a ceremony you won’t end up seeing on Youtube.  The thought of fainting or saying the wrong name has crossed my mind.  Nothing like that has ever happened to me before.  I’m usually cool as a cucumber.  But who knows what will be going thru my mind on my wedding day.  Just get me to the reception in one piece…that’s all I”m asking.

Iowa Tornado…

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…A citizen journalist captures a photo of a tornado happening outside her window that gets picked up by Associated Press. When you see photos like this, you kinda forget that natural disasters are devastating and destructive.

Tim Russert Passes Away At 58

Friday, June 13th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…Reports are surfacing that Tim Russert, Washington Bureau chief of NBC News and host of NBC’s Meet the Press, has passed away from an apparent heart attack at only 58 years old. According to the NY Post, he collapsed from a heart attack at NBC’s Washington News Bureau.

Russert seemed like one of the best guys in the news business: Not only an incredible journalist, but a guy with a great sense of humor.   I’ve watched the guy for years, thanks in large part to his hilarious interviews on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. You can see one of these priceless interviews here. The man was a genius. On any given episode of Meet The Press, Russert managed to bring down various politicians with ease and grace. He will be missed.

Carrie Does Cosmo!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…Carrie Underwood is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. In her coverstory interview, Carrie talks to the mag about her innate unsexiness (”I don’t consider myself sexy … I’m kind of a nervous person in general. I’m socially awkward. I’m not tall and sensuous. I usually wear sweats everywhere I go. Oh, and I burp a lot.”) her #1 relationship no-no (”Cheating is a dealbreaker. If you cheat you’re gone…Getting revenge on a guy is just not worth it to me … the best revenge I can think of is becoming famous.”) among other things. Here is Carrie’s cute and simple cover:

This year, Carrie Underwood won her third Grammy and toured for her megahit second album. Here, the private singer opens up about her “carnival ride” career and new perspective on love. Just three short years after winning the fourth season of American Idol , 25-year-old Carrie Underwood has seemingly undergone a radical transformation — from a shy, plainly dressed girl from Checotah, Oklahoma, to a chart-topping singer who performs in front of massive sold-out stadium crowds, sporting sexy above-the knee boots and black mini shorts. The keyword here is seemingly. The second she wraps her Cosmo cover shoot at a New York City photo studio, the petite blond sheds the designer duds that she’s been expertly posing in and slips into her own clothes: loose-fitting gray sweatpants, a blue hoodie sweatshirt, and white sneakers.

That’s my girl … keepin’ it real to the very last.  For me, she is one of the very rare shining stars to come out of American Idol and I couldn’t be more happy for her success. The entire Cosmo interview with Carrie comes out in the July issue which hit newsstands today. Check it out …

Still Pregnant…

Monday, June 9th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…we’re only a couple weeks out from meeting the spawn of Keith/Nicole.  Maybe it’s beause black is slimming, but she doesn’t look 8 months pregnant to me.  This has to be one of the most confusing pregnancies of all time.  I’m just sayin’.

Another Made-Up Holiday? Yup.

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…Get ready for Donut Day!  Tomorrow (6/6) is National Donut Day. Yes, another one of those holidays that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but if it means free food, I’ll take it.

Krispy Kreme plans to celebrate by offering customers one free donut of their choice.

“I’ll be late for work, but I’ll have a donut in my hand when I walk in!” A Wolf intern says.

Also, if you happen to be flying Southwest tomorrow, the airline plans to observe the holiday by “handing out some 54,000 packages of chocolate donuts” at airports in in Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Tulsa and San Antonio. (However, a cup of airport coffee will still set you back about $4.)

Shania Breaks Her Silence!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’ll tell you what…Shania is FINALLY talking about her husband’s infidelity…she writes:

“To my beloved fans:

As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.

Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.

Love,
Shania “
